1. What the Shannondale Shortlist Is

The Shannondale Shortlist is a community-curated, informational directory of local contractors and service providers serving the Shannondale, Harpers Ferry, and surrounding West Virginia communities. The purpose of this Site is to help residents discover local service providers through community review and personal vetting.

The Shannondale Shortlist is not:

• A licensed contractor referral service
• A party to any agreement between a homeowner and a service provider
• An agent, broker, or representative of any listed provider
• A guarantor of any provider's work, credentials, availability, or conduct
• A dispute resolution service

Use of this Site constitutes your acceptance of these terms in full.

2. No Guarantee of Provider Quality or Credentials

While we make reasonable efforts to review provider applications and verify credentials where applicable, Shannondale Shortlist makes no guarantee, express or implied, regarding the quality, safety, licensure, insurance status, or performance of any listed provider.

Provider information — including license numbers, insurance status, service areas, and contact details — is provided by the provider at time of application and independently reviewed where possible. This information may change after listing and may not reflect current credentials.

Badge designations (Verified Pro, Community Trusted, Founder's Pick, Shannondale Resident) reflect information available at time of listing and do not constitute an endorsement, certification, or guarantee of any kind.

3. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Shannondale Shortlist, its founders, operators, and affiliates shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from:

• Your use of or reliance on any information found on this Site
• Any work performed or not performed by a listed provider
• Any dispute between a homeowner and a service provider
• Any injury, property damage, financial loss, or other harm resulting from hiring a listed provider
• Inaccurate, outdated, or incomplete provider information
• The removal or suspension of any provider listing

Your use of this Site and any provider found through it is entirely at your own risk. All agreements, contracts, and financial arrangements are solely between you and the service provider.

4. Provider Listings

Inclusion in the Shannondale Shortlist directory is at the sole discretion of the Shannondale Shortlist founders. We reserve the right to:

• Approve, decline, or remove any provider listing at any time and for any reason
• Modify badge designations based on updated information or community feedback
• Suspend or permanently remove listings in response to community concerns
• Update listing information as new details become available

Removal from the directory does not imply wrongdoing on the part of any provider. Shannondale Shortlist is not obligated to provide reasons for listing decisions.

Listings are never sold or assigned based on payment. No provider may pay for placement, preferential ranking, or badge designation. All listings are merit-based.

5. Provider Responsibilities

By submitting an application to the Shannondale Shortlist, providers agree that:

• All information submitted is accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge
• They will notify Shannondale Shortlist of any changes to their license, insurance, or contact information
• They will conduct themselves professionally and treat community members with respect
• They will not use their listing for misleading, deceptive, or harmful purposes
• Shannondale Shortlist bears no responsibility for leads, bookings, disputes, or outcomes arising from their listing

6. Community Vouches and Reviews

Community Trusted badge designations are based on endorsements submitted by community members. Shannondale Shortlist does not independently verify the authenticity of every vouch but makes reasonable efforts to confirm that vouches come from genuine community members.

Vouches and endorsements reflect the personal opinions of community members and do not constitute a guarantee of provider performance. Shannondale Shortlist is not responsible for the accuracy of community-submitted endorsements.

7. Intellectual Property

All content on this Site — including text, design, logos, graphics, and the Shannondale Shortlist name and branding — is the property of Shannondale Shortlist and may not be reproduced, distributed, or used without express written permission.

Provider names, business names, and logos remain the property of their respective owners and are used for directory purposes only.

8. Third-Party Links and Services

This Site may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, or external resources. Shannondale Shortlist is not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or accuracy of any third-party site. Links are provided for convenience only and do not constitute an endorsement.

9. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. Changes will be reflected by an updated date at the top of this page. Continued use of the Site following any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to review this page periodically.

10. Governing Law

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of West Virginia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions. Any disputes arising from your use of this Site shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Jefferson County, West Virginia.
